The days have gotten a bit cooler, but the music seems to be getting hotter! I’m here dipping into the recent releases from Emilia Quinn, Britain’s rising Americana artist.

As a bit of press background, Emilia Quinn is a dynamic UK-based musician and singer-songwriter known for her raw, soulful voice and genre-blending sound that fuses Americana, country, and rock influences. With a background in classical training and a passion for storytelling, Emilia creates emotionally charged music that resonates deeply with her listeners. Her powerful vocals and honest lyricism explore themes of love, resilience, and self-discovery, earning her recognition in both the British and international music scenes.

Now, onto the reviews.

“Call Me By Her Name” is out everywhere, as it was released May 2.

I am told about this track that:

“Call Me By Her Name” tells the story of discovering the person you love has been unfaithful. That shattering moment when you realize they have found someone new, and all you want is to have one last night in their arms before they slip away forever. Set against the slow burn of Americana Blues, the track captures the ache of betrayal and the quiet storm that follows.

“This is almost an answer to my previous single, ‘Does She Know,’ showing the other side of the relationship. It’s a true heartbreaker, so listen with caution…” Emilia says.

The song looks at the ruins of a relationship when you feel that you would do anything to be more like ‘her.’ It’s that story we nearly all know when the one we love prefers another and there is nothing we can do about it. Emilia emotionally connects to the lyrics and delivers real passion in this stripped-back track. The chorus gently sways; the pain never leaves, even when you close your eyes. I liked the guitar break that kicks in late in the song, where previously this was folk acoustic, but then it returns to a vocal delivery with backing harmony that reminds us all that we need to be held sometimes.

“Without You” came out June 13.

“Detailing the navigation of complicated post-breakup emotions, Emilia wrote the song from the perspective of a friend after they shared how their breakup was affecting them even though it was the best thing to do. The single itself is a testament to how strong Emilia and her band are, bringing that solid yet live feel to Motor Museum Studios and continuing to build the exciting picture for the upcoming album, which is due for release on 19th September 2025!

This one is more upbeat musically; the music pulses, and the vocals are a bit more Heart in style. It is more of a rock ballad with those country spices added in the mix. Little things connect and work; the drum sound anchors the track well, and the song has a broad, radio-friendly appeal. Radio 2 should take notice!

“Without You,” featuring Jake O’Neill, is out July 4.

Emilia and Jake met at the British Country festival Buckle and Boots 2024 and got on like a house on fire. A little down the line, Emilia was recording the Summer Heartbreak anthem ‘Without You’ and could hear a male vocal feature opportunity that fit Jake’s voice like a glove!

“I could hear it so clearly in my head, his voice on this track, so the only sensible thing to do was ask Jake to feature!” Emilia says.

Lucky for both their audiences, Jake was excited to be part of it, and so “Without You ft. Jake O’Neill” is to be released on 4th July, coinciding nicely with Emilia Quinn’s 4th July Celebration at The Underground, Bradford! [Lineup includes Jackson Lake, Chris Dover, Georgia Nevada, and co-headliners Morganway—tickets here].

Grabbing a listen, it is interesting listening to this as a duet, very well worth doing! I think adding the male vocal in there as well shows us that any relationship breakdown impacts both parties involved, no matter how much we stand by words that we say. As grown-ups, are we really so scared to wake up alone? Maybe we are. There is a sadness within the song, but it manages to uplift musically, and I’d look forward to hearing it live.

With these three powerhouse tracks, Emilia Quinn continues to carve out her space as one of the UK’s most compelling voices in Americana. Whether she’s tugging at the heartstrings with raw vulnerability or leaning into rock-driven resilience, Emilia proves she’s not just riding the wave—she’s helping shape the tide. Honest, bold, and ever-evolving, these songs show an artist not afraid to face emotional wreckage head-on and turn it into something beautiful. If this is a preview of the upcoming album, we’re in for a storm
