In February 2024, we reviewed an album from these guys called “Vertigo.” At the time Lorraine said of the album, “These two clearly have the musical class to deliver a punky electropop sound that should easily find an audience in 2024.”

Since then, the duo appear to have become a trio and their bandcamp (link here) tells us that this is the first single from a planned upcoming album, written and recorded in Summer 2024. The duo have also become a trio with the introduction of bass player Johnny Rainbow, who recorded the bass lines in November.

For the single, I believe La Luna took inspiration from repeated listenings to the bands of the golden age of post-punk, from The Damned to old Litfiba and Diaframma.

My review:

This is a high-energy techno-pop punk track sung in Italian (fair enough, they are Italian!)

“Like empty stages, my senses confuse me

Behind the silences there are immense glimpses of depth…”

This is a track that had my foot moving as the headphones took me into the song; it was impossible to just sit still with this; you had to move to the rhythm. It had plenty of bite in the vocals and melody in the chorus. For her, it is only the moon….

And for me, there is nothing like the winter moon, and I liked this single!
