Last night felt like one of those “you had to be there” moments—the kind that Rock The Joint Magazine lives for. With her debut album Backfire dropping on March 13 (which we reviewed here), Georgia Nevada rolled into London to kick off a run of intimate headline dates. Fresh from supporting When Rivers Meet on their 2025 tour, this was her moment to step out front—and Camden’s Fiddler’s Elbow was the perfect launchpad.
Our London crew squeezed into the venue early, greeted by that unmistakable buzz you only get in grassroots spaces. There’s something about the Fiddler’s Elbow—equal parts sweatbox and sanctuary—that channels serious Cavern Club energy. Small stage, big sound, and a crowd packed in close enough to feel every note. At a punchy 93–94 dB, this wasn’t background music—it hit.
Before the main event, we were treated to not one, but two support acts—a proper bonus. The opener Beau Hope caught us off guard in the best way. Youthful, energetic, and clearly having a blast, they blended country-pop sensibilities with tight musicianship and a knack for storytelling. There was a slight looseness in the rhythm—more charm than flaw—and it gave the set a raw, livewire feel. One of those acts you stumble across early and think, “right, remember that name.”
Next up was Ryan Evans.

Ryan Evans, a familiar face on the UK country circuit and a previous BBC Introducing Artist of the Week. Evans brought experience and polish to the stage, delivering a set rooted firmly in country traditions, with emotive ballads woven through. The crowd responded warmly—this is an artist who knows his audience and how to hold them. A steady hand
Main event, Georgia Nevada.
Leaning heavily into “Backfire,” her set felt purposeful—less a showcase, more a statement. There’s confidence in how she carries herself now, a real sense of identity taking shape.
Standout moment? “My Town Too.” It landed with the kind of authenticity you can’t fake—personal, grounded, and delivered with conviction. Across the set, Georgia moved effortlessly between styles, from the emotional weight of “Damaged Goods” to her more driving, rock-edged numbers. It’s a dynamic range that keeps you locked in.
What really elevated things was the detail. This isn’t a plug-in-and-play performance—Georgia mixes things up, switching instruments and textures, even bringing in the mandolin for added flavour. It’s these touches that give the live show its character. Backed by a tight, well-drilled band, everything clicked. For a tour opener, there was no sense of bedding in—just a group completely in sync and ready to go.
And that’s the thing—this felt like the start of something. Georgia Nevada is clearly building momentum, and you’d be surprised if these “small” headline shows don’t lead to much bigger stages. Country festivals? Feels less like a prediction, more like an inevitability.
Nights like this are exactly why venues like the Fiddler’s Elbow matter. They’re the proving grounds, the places where artists sharpen their sound and connect up close with the people who’ll follow them all the way up. Long may they survive—because if this show proved anything, it’s that the future of the scene is already here.

Even if country music is not your thing the fusion between genres made it enjoyable for us and the rest of the crowd, she comes across as warm and connected having a laugh with the crowd and making us all want more! As Georgia is gaining interest in the scene, there was a strong feeling that this was her crowd. It was a celebration of where she is at right now as an artist and we headed off to get a vinyl from her merchandise before hitting the late bus home!
