Welcome to our section of reviews. Interestingly enough, this is just an open introduction page without reviews! You will find the reviews in the drop-down menu under this page or in the archive pages linked here.

I will however take a moment to note our policy on reviews for readers and artists sending in material they want us to listen to.

You will notice that we currently have three overworked reviewers! We cover rock, country, jazz and blues. Occasionally we dip into melodic punk and pop. But we don’t really go beyond that. Much as we admire rappers, sludge metal, death metal, industrial metal, hardcore, etc our reviewers don’t cover that for us, so don’t send it in.

Anything we cover, we like. We are in the business of using reviews to recommend artists we feel have potential or that are continuing to cut the mustard. We listen to the music; every song from an album will be heard and commented on. We will be honest but do not give stars out; we find that subjective and rather pointless.

We do not take payments for reviews; we do not expect payments for reviews. If someone wants to buy us a coffee on the support us button, that is a different matter.

Apart from that, if you are an artist wanting to send us music, you can use our contact page: https://rockthejointmagazine.com/contact-us-letters/

Alternatively,, some people contact us on our Instagram: rock_the_joint_magazine

Or you can email us directly at: admin@rockthejointmagazine.co.uk

If you would like to do reviews for us, they are good fun to do, and we will try and match your musical tastes to what comes in! We are always happy to talk to people who want to join our little team as volunteers. We help with getting your name out there; we give references and support your music writing. You can contact us by any of the methods above.

And a last word regarding AI. We NEVER use AI to write reviews or any subject content. We write the content ourselves. We do use press releases within the features and the reviews that we publish; we have no control over how those releases were written. When we refer to the press release, we will usually note that we are doing so. However, this site is free of AI content generation in the review section. When we say, “my review,” we mean it.
