Hello readers! I find myself listening to one of those artists that we have been following as a magazine from the point they released their first single. This is where we get sentimental, as it is so great when they just keep going and getting stronger – and we got it right! With Robyn Red, I have her single “Like Jackson” on my personal playlist, and “Caledonia (Looking Good on You)” from her EP is another favourite. She has enough bar-room punch to give her country music a real edge.
I will share the press release with you here:
“Robyn Red is a rising star in the UK country music scene, blending traditional country with a bold, pop-leaning edge. Known for her themes of female empowerment, resilience, and unapologetic confidence, she is carving out a distinctive space as a modern country artist. Her signature red hat has become a recognisable symbol of her identity, reflecting both her fiery spirit and individuality.
Robyn first broke through on the DF Concerts stage at Country 2 Country (C2C) in Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, debuting in 2022 before returning in 2023 and earning a headline slot in 2024, with further appearances in 2025. She has also performed at C2C London’s O2 Arena across both the Round Up and Wayside stages.
As an independent artist, she has built her career from the ground up, self-promoting and selling out venues across Glasgow, progressing from intimate rooms like The Garage Attic to established stages including Audio and King Tut’s.
Her latest single, “Country Road Blues”, reflects on meaningful experiences and the passage of time. While it recognises that all good moments eventually come to an end, it also highlights the importance of keeping perspective and finding ways to stay optimistic.
With a growing fanbase, expanding touring profile, and a distinctive sound, Robyn Red continues to establish herself as one of the UK’s most compelling emerging country artists.”

My review:
The single was released on June 5, 2026, so it is available on all platforms now.
This one has a bit of fiddle and a nice touch of rock ’n’ roll. One of the things I like about Robyn’s music and lyrics is how well she infuses herself into every song. From laying her red hat down, to being out on the road, to feeling alone with a whisky in her hand, her songs interconnect. If you know her catalogue, there are little Easter eggs hidden along the way for you to discover.
“Country Road Blues” has a dance in its step and is joyously upbeat—a song with a smile on its face. It captures that bittersweet feeling of looking back on good times while still embracing whatever comes next.
Some artists arrive with promise; others fulfil it. Having followed Robyn Red from her earliest releases, “Country Road Blues” feels like the latest chapter in a story that is still gathering momentum. Long may the wheels keep turning and the country roads keep calling.
