Hilla Peer is one of our friends here at the magazine and it is always great to get a message from her that she has a new single out, we must catch up with her again in 2026!

You may know her from a great cover of “Tainted Love” that has over 23k listens now on Spotify and her original track “Hide and Seek” that is this great funky pop sound that you just have to dance to!

In fact, diving into Hilla Peer I would listen to “Hide and Seek” first and then check out the new single “Airport” that came out October 24, so it is out on all platforms now.

Hilla tells us about this single,

The musical arrangement and production was handled by Gadee, as well as Guy Tibet.

“I was at an airport watching a couple and I thought that maybe they were going to break up and go their different ways,I started writing there and then and composed it on the piano when I got home.”

But, feeling that the song would be better as a duet, she contacted Gadee (Pictured below).

Hilla said: “I’d listened to Gadee for a long time, and really liked his voice and his vibe.

I sent him a demo and he really loved it. We met and recorded it three months ago.”

In the film “Love Actually” (which I haven’t watched in many years but remember loving it), it notes how airports are such wonderful places to sit and watch the world go by, people coming and going, meeting up and saying goodbye. A place where humanity cries to say goodbye and smiles to say hello. This song takes me to the departure lounge where all humanity passes by.

My review: This is a gentle song, a lovely story placed to a melody. I like the duet, the male/female vocal works great for this song and allows for the harmonies to shine. It is a very radio friendly song and I am sure that it would also work live. Maybe I was in the mood for a dreamy folk/pop romantic number, and in consequence, I enjoyed this one.

So “Airport” is another gem from Hilla Peer — honest, heartfelt, and beautifully crafted. It’s one of those songs that stays with you after the last note fades, like the echo of a goodbye at the departure gate. Add it to your playlist and let it take you somewhere warm and wistful. ✈️💛 “Airport” – the sound of love in transit.
