A moment of annoyance from your reviewer. I often listen to music on my laptop, but one of my cats has a thing for cables and has bitten right through my little headphone cable! That is really unhelpful – however, headphone-less we can still crank things up a bit!

The single in focus today is from Florida artist ivri with her new single “Noise.” ivri is heading over to the UK in June (tour dates below) and so this is a great moment for us to cover this artist for the first time. We are usually at the Download festival so should catch her there (she is playing on the Scooter Stage on Sunday June 14). You might see us there as we are heading off that day to see The Pretty Reckless (main stage) and I will probably catch Linkin Park who are headlining that day as well.

I will first share the press release with you:

With viral heat and alt-rock radio momentum at her back, Florida-born alternative disruptor ivri unleashes her frenetic new single ‘NOISE,’ out now.

The release arrives amid explosive momentum — her viral breakout ‘Tower Of Memories’ has surpassed 4.5 million TikTok creations and nearly 8 billion views, amassed over 75 million streams across DSPs, and continues its ascent at alt-rock radio, landing at #30 this week. With numbers that signal both cultural impact and format traction, ivri is quickly emerging as a new alternative artist to watch.

She first teased ‘NOISE’ with a series of snippets across social platforms, igniting anticipation within her fast-growing fan community. The track layers her evocative vocals over ethereal clean guitar lines before surging forward on an anxious, pulse-quickening beat punctuated by glitchy, video game-style textures. A wave of fuzz-drenched distortion crashes into a chantable chorus — “I desire for creation, I need noise” — ultimately spiralling into a chaotic breakdown that underscores her command of dynamics, balancing soaring melody with jagged sonics and otherworldly keys.

This spring, ivri will embark on her first-ever European headline run, ‘The Theory of You Tour Part 2.’ The tour launches May 29 at The Academy 2 in Dublin, Ireland, and travels across the UK and mainland Europe with stops in The Netherlands, Germany, and Poland. She caps the trek with major festival appearances at Rock For People in Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic on June 12 and Download Festival at Donington Park in Leicestershire, England on June 14. After steadily building her foundation, ivri broke through in a major way last year with the theory of you and ‘Tower Of Memories.’ The single not only ignited on TikTok and SoundCloud — reaching #1 on the SoundCloud Rock Chart and TikTok Viral Chart — but translated into sustained streaming growth and radio support, cementing her place at the forefront of a new wave of alternative rock.

My Review: Where is rock heading in 2026? Listening to ivri, it feels like an alternative electro-punk future. She delivers a dark, emotive soundtrack for a dystopian movie that hasn’t been filmed yet. At just 2:42, “Noise” hooks in fast, delivers a creative jolt, and vanishes before you’ve quite caught your breath. There’s a hint of math rock in the complex rhythmic patterns, and it’s the kind of track that should translate loudly when this hits the stage on the upcoming tour.

“is this loss or redirection?

it was a womb not a void,

I desire for creation,

I need noise,

I need noise”

If this is the sound of the future of alternative rock, it’s loud, glitchy, and just the right amount of chaotic. We’ll happily turn the volume up.
