I have to admit I am extremely jealous. All day today I have battled winds and rains. In fact it was made worse by a waterlogged staff car park that meant it was shut to cars coming in. I had to park so far away and then battle through the bad weather to get to the building. Then I turn to my review of Lucy Gallant – every time I see Lucy she is in a bikini, looking fabulous, loving beach life, enjoying the sun and spending time with her lovely little dog. I mean?!
Joking aside, Lucy is one of our friends here and it is always great to dip into her new music. I am a bit late getting this review sent through to the boys (our own bad boys here lol), but my mum has been in hospital this week and I have been very worried about her so everything has been delayed.
This single was out on November 7, so is available on all platforms now.
Let me share the press release with you:
“Australia-based singer-songwriter Lucy Gallant released her Smouldering new single “Bad Boy” on November 7, 2025, live at the Airlie Beach Festival of Music. Blending dream-pop and soul-pop with hints of blues, the track showcases Gallant’s distinctive voice, fierce independence, and magnetic charisma.
Written while busking on the streets of Byron Bay, “Bad Boy” is a bold anthem about embracing your inner baddie — the fearless, unapologetic part of yourself that dares to love, lead, and live on your own terms. It’s that Bonnie-and-Clyde kind of chemistry — two strong energies colliding, sparking freedom instead of chaos.
A Rebellion Wrapped in Rhythm.
“Bad Boy” isn’t about losing control — it’s about owning it. The song celebrates confidence, sensuality, and the intoxicating rush that comes when you meet someone who matches your fire.
“This song is about finding your inner baddie,” says Lucy. “That wild, confident part of yourself that doesn’t need permission to shine. I want people to feel untamed, sexy, and alive when they hear it.”
Written and performed by Lucy Gallant, Produced by Josh Beattie and mastered by Paul Blakey, “Bad Boy” pairs hypnotic beats, lush cinematic textures, and sultry slide guitar with Lucy’s soulful, ethereal vocals — a sound that’s equal parts rebellion and allure.”

And there we are…come on, we all do love a bad boy! So let’s see what Lucy has cooked up for us this time around –
My review:
This is a really strong vocal from Lucy, she reminded me a bit of Amy Winehouse on this number, it infuses a jazz edge to her folk-pop style. It has this club jazz edge and her vocals hit some soaring high notes. Nothing will stop Lucy she says, and I totally got the sleazy aspect of the track that comes with confidence in yourself and the desire to acknowledge that rules are there to be broken, and life to be lived and experienced. With an invitation from Lucy to be a goddess if we can be her sin, I’m sure the boys at the magazine here would be happy to get funky with her to this one! It is also a song that uses layered backing harmonies very effectively.
And that’s Lucy all over — sun-kissed, self-assured, and serving up another track that makes you want to break a rule or two just for the thrill of it. “Bad Boy” is bold, brazen, and beautifully Lucy, a reminder that confidence isn’t a costume, it’s a lifestyle.
If you haven’t hit play yet, what are you waiting for? Go find your inner baddie and let Lucy lead the way.
