I have baby blues at the moment in the form of a 9 month old who has learned to crawl and is on a mission to pull everything out of every cupboard at every opportunity. As I tried to explain to Benny here at the magazine, the exhausting lifestyle of looking after a little one is making me late with every review he sends me! But…I’m on track now with the new Ross Harding single, and we will also note the tour dates for the upcoming visit to the UK.

Speaking about the new single, Ross Harding explained: “Revelator Blues is my take on more traditional blues. It is dark, moody, ominous, but also full of raw energy. Directly influenced by the blues greats like Robert Johnson and the verse of Son House, I feel that it is as much an old blues as it is a modern and fresh feel.”

We did speak to Ross about a year or so back and I’m always pleased to dip into his darker blues style. I will start by sharing the press release:

“Ross Harding released his new single ‘Revelator Blues’ on September 14 2025, and is taken from his forthcoming new album “Blood & Blues” which is scheduled for release on Friday 14th November 2025.

Chapter 2 commences from September 2025 – December 2025.  Having hit the ground running in 2024, Ross supported the likes of Dan Patlansky, Jack J Hutchinson and Caitlin Krisko and The Broadcast throughout the UK.

This year, he will perform at Stockport Blues and Roots Festival 2025, special guest set for The Outlaw Orchestra in Camden, support riffmeister Jack J Hutchinson in Bristol and London, supporting harmonica extraordinaire Will Wilde in Southampton and perform debut headline shows in several places including Folkestone, Penzance and more.

My review: This is indeed a dark bluesy vocal with some nifty guitar work giving a Southern blues sound, echoes of lonely towns with the wind blowing through and a whisky on the bar. The guitar break mid section is great listening and the lyrics anticipate the coming of the storm. I hope this is an indicator of the album to come as it is a really strong springboard, my kind of music when I’m watching something live and in a cellar venue!

In summary, Harding nails that balance of tradition and freshness, giving us a track that feels both timeless and urgent. “Revelator Blues” is dark, moody, and alive with raw energy – the sound of the storm. If this single is anything to go by, “Blood & Blues” is shaping up to be one of most anticipated blues releases of the latter stages of 2025.

And we hope you liked the review, dear reader! If you did, please check out the other pages of the magazine; we have many great features, merchandise pages, shops, editorials and even a poetry page.
