The Word 66 announce the release of their 3rd single from the upcoming EP “37 Miracles.” This time, a rock power ballad mixed by Grammy winning Producer Malcome Springer dropping on October 17. We spoke to the guys recently and I reviewed a few of their singles. I said about them: The Word66 showcases a range that spans from thunderous rock anthems to soaring ballads, all wrapped in a bold message of faith and purpose. So I had certain perceptions of what to expect!
A hard rock band on a mission to spread hope, peace, and love with rocking melodies and positive lyrics—coming from a place deep within their hearts. In a recent review, they were called “Gospel-spreading Las Vegans set off on a journey to glory.”
Founded in 2018 by veteran guitarist Steve Scott, who eventually recruited Lance Crane and newest rocker Carlos Zemma, with special guest bassist Danny Miranda, the band is inspired by artists including Black Sabbath, Shinedown, Creed, Disciple, and Thousand Foot Krutch, to name a few.
The press release for this one tells me:
“The song is about a person going through some tough times and understanding that they are never going through it alone. Once again, featuring our new vocalist Carlos, and Danny Miranda from Queen and Blue Oyster Cult fame on bass, providing his signature finiginger style heard on many of the all-time classic rock staples.
The band is managed by PCM Management, which is the former drummer of the multi-platinum and Grammy-nominated band Saliva.”

My review: Vocally we are in the territory of David Coverdale with one of those soaring rock ballads. The chorus has this big lift off sound and message, plenty of energy and power in the emotive delivery. In these troubled times there is always a need for knowledge that someone out there cares and this is the message of this power ballad. In the worst of times we can still walk in God’s love. I enjoyed the late guitar break and it’s one of those numbers you sway to in the show. As Steve Scott told us, “Spreading love, joy, peace and salvation is our goal” and that manages to shine through clearly here.
The Word66 creates a movement of musical hope wrapped in rock.
