I was bustling (a good word for me this morning) through the local supermarket this morning, less interested in the Valentines Day section and more heading towards the necessities of cat food and milk. However, I can be a sucker for a good romantic song and had this one by Grace Parry waiting for me at home.Grace Parry you may know from an earlier pop song called “Silly Girl” that currently has 55k+ listens on Spotify and its a slick piece of radio friendly pop, an early morning song to have a dance around the kitchen with while you are making a quick bacon bun! For now however, I will share the press release with you for the new single and then review it at the end of the piece.

“On February 12, 2026, Wales-based artist Grace Parry is set to release ‘Happy Valentine’s Day,’ a heartfelt love ballad and her first release since her life-altering stroke last year. The track delves into the theme of unreciprocated love and the fear of rejection when expressing one’s feelings. The piano-driven track marks a meaningful milestone in Grace’s career. Last March, on her 32nd birthday, she suffered a stroke that forced her to temporarily pause her music journey. Through months of rehabilitation, the experience served as a powerful reminder of life’s brevity, motivating Grace to prioritize her passion for creating music.

Encouraged by her dedicated fan base, Grace is now dedicated to sharing more of her original work with the world, starting with this poignant single. Grace captures the

vulnerability and raw emotion of unrequited love with lyrics like: ‘We’ve only been talking

for so long // Wish I could do some more than write a song // And it’s so stupid of me to catch feelings.’

Reflecting on her latest release, Grace shared:

‘When I wrote this song, I wrote it thinking ‘here we go again, I’ve caught feelings’ and I kind of knew deep down I was going to get ghosted. It’s about being a hopeless romantic and a fantasist.’

With “Happy Valentine’s Day,” Grace invites listeners into her world of emotions and reflections on love, inviting them to connect with her music on a deeper level.”

My review:

I was sent some press pictures to choose from for this review piece and chose a couple of suitably glam pics of Grace, but my main thought was – ‘look at those heels, I’d fall over lol.’ The track itself is late night romance, the sun sets, a candle is lit and the piano plays. More than anything the vocal performance is dreamy and suitably lovely, it is curl up on the sofa with a glass and this song would play you through – the lyric is a bit sad, but remember (as Shakespeare says) a sad song is best for winter.

Grace Parry trades kitchen-pop sparkle for candlelit vulnerability on “Happy Valentine’s Day,” a piano-led slow burn that leans into longing and quiet heartbreak.

Her voice does the heavy lifting here — dreamy, intimate, and perfect for late-night listening.

A sad song for winter hearts everywhere — press play, feel everything, and maybe text the one you didn’t dare. 💔
