Well, here we are in 2025 and this is a rare foray by me into the reviews section of the magazine. However, we suddenly have some great new music being sent our way and with Stevie being off on maternity leave (but back doing reviews soon), I have grabbed this one from the intray.
I do have some background information on this band!
The Story:
In the heart of Death Valley, an ancient evil roams. FangSlinger, once a man seeking fortune during the California Gold Rush, now leads a band of immortal outlaws, terrorising the West.
The band’s lore is rich and immersive, drawing fans into a world where the lines between reality and myth blur. Each member of FangSlinger has their own dark story and reason for joining the quest, making their performances more than just music but a theatrical experience.
The first was “Lost Souls Saloon,” a hard-hitting number with a chant-like chorus, released in October 2024. It set a decent first marker, but this new track certainly hits home.

“Blood Curse” was released on January 10. I instantly liked this one; it took me into the sort of territory set by Bon Jovi “Wanter Dead or Alive” era. It has this gritty southern blend of hard-hitting rock and country vibes. Solid drums pound the beat and the female/male harmony vocals add a real vibe to the mix. The tale of the devil and life eternal adds interest and I was hooked in quickly.
The video presents the single in a slick manner; for a band only on their second single, it is really well produced; it blends black/white in there effectively and takes us into a campfire feel.
This is a band with a lot of confidence; they have a strong image and concept that works for them and I am genuinely excited to hear more. Really pleased to have found them and I hope we will cover them again in the magazine.
And I hope you liked the review, dear reader! If you did, please check out the other pages of the magazine; we have many great features, merchandise, editorials and even poetry! We work hard for you, and if you want to show some appreciation and support what we do, then do use the Support Us link below and buy me a coffee for the New Year! Always appreciated.
