Released on January 24, Owen Morton unleashes his new single “Mine” on all major platforms.
With his passionate lyrics, captivating vocals, and intense emotion, Owen, a British country singer-songwriter, aims to introduce the UK country scene to Nashville while examining real-life subjects.
Owen picked up an acoustic guitar for the first time in July 2017 and started singing along to GuitarTabs.com while strumming absently.
Owen’s passion for writing and playing acoustic country music hasn’t diminished since. After receiving intensive vocal instruction from a respected Manchester-based coach, he started making money as a freelance vocalist on Fiverr in June 2020. He still collaborates with musicians throughout the world and frequently performs at open mic events in Liverpool.

My review:
Owen Morton is one of the rising stars in the vibrant scene that is currently British country music. For those following Owen on social media, the songs are coming thick and fast, with the highly anticipated duet, “Never Wanna Be Without You,” featuring British CMA-nominated ‘Vocalist of the Year’, Georgia Nevada. We are looking forward to that one, as we love Georgia here at the magazine.
This release follows on from “Cowboy Dreams.” It’s musically simple and effective; the vocals are appealing and the track positively smiles its way through its minutes with a little laugh in the chorus. It is quite poppy and would have a commercial reach beyond a country scene audience.
Owen says of the track: “John Williamson (aka Swilson) brought the chorus to me. Being a lover of the autumn, the ‘feel’ of this song captivated me instantly and I saw it as a window to write a love song that is stooped in autumnal imagery and warmth. We wanted to convey the physical feeling, sound, smell and taste of the fall and wrap it all up in a romantic context, making for a fun and catchy way to express affection and gratitude.”
Compared to his previous release, “Cowboy Dreams,” that was a bit slower and more campside in feel; “Mine” has a nod toward summer festivals and a live crowd enjoying the moment. I would say that listening to “Mine,” I too enjoyed the moment.
