“You Don’t know me.

Or where I’m from

Seen the challenges

That I’ve overcome

I’ve fought wars

No-one knows about

My virtue and grace

Keep my feet on the ground.” (by Robbie Harte and Matt Anthony)

So here is a new track from Robbie Harte, and it is a great fun, line dancing number with a twist of the south in the groove; it is exactly the type of track that I want to hear from commercial radio as I hit the highway.

Turning to the press pack, I am told that this track draws inspiration from her personal growth and evolution. “Sawdust on the Floor” is a testament to Harte’s journey of overcoming challenges and adversities, going from feeling invisible to invincible—allowing her past struggles to burn away, while her vocals deliver a resonant and powerful message. The title “Sawdust on the Floor” symbolizes Harte’s journey of self-creation, shaping and refining herself into the strong and empowered individual she is today. With each obstacle overcome, she leaves behind the metaphorical sawdust, marking her continuous transformation, and stands as a powerful declaration of Robbie Harte’s ability to turn pain and hardship into something transcendent and beautiful. Co-written with Matt Anthony, this upbeat bluesy track resonates widely, as many can relate to its message and story, while introducing a distinct groove and energy that ignites excitement, drawing listeners in with its infectious chorus and memorable hook.

We asked Robbie about the track and she told us,

“”Sawdust on the Floor” represents the culmination of my life’s journey and the hurdles I’ve overcome—these challenges have molded and shaped me into the resilient and empowered individual I am today. With each adversity, I have emerged stronger than I was before. I could have allowed these tough times to defeat me, but instead, I became stronger with every lesson learned. I am not the same person I was 15 years ago, 5 years ago, or even 6 months ago. I keep growing and evolving into the best version of myself that I am today, and I am very proud.”

My review: We instantly enter a strong guitar sound and the storytelling of Robbie Harte in this most radio-friendly of songs. I want this played nice and loud at a festival and see the crowd jumping. Yes, the lyrics tell of hard times, but the melody and message are hugely celebratory and it is a great feel-good song.

Did I like it? I absolutely did!
