I know Rogue Awakening from their single “Feed Me Fire,” which is a real blaster; if you haven’t heard it, I do recommend you do. We did speak to the band around the time that the EP of that name was released and Kimberly told us, “Feed Me Fire” was actually the last song we wrote for the EP. I think it is probably the one we are proudest of, as it shows a real evolution in our music; it shows the growth and how the dynamics of us as a band working together have developed.”
This new single, “Little Death,” is less commercial than “Feed Me Fire.” It is more building on/and appealing to the fan base with a strong alternative rock style angst offering. What we do have here is one of the best art covers for a single I have seen in a while, and the video is superb! I loved the witchery, the zombies (one of those really reminded me of someone!) and the whole look in the video, which follows in the vein of “Bloodflow.” (I enjoyed the little laugh that opens the song.) They are a very visual band, a blend of goth and alternative metal; the guitars connect to the darker vocals. I would suggest this is a single that points toward the direction the band is taking; they know who they are and they are definitely good enough to keep pulling a fan base toward them. One to watch out for in 2025, definitely.
