As if I don’t have enough work to do! Here in the magazine intray is this long line of potential submissions to listen to and check out – but here I am reviewing something new because I came across it and rather liked it. Our magazine Instagram fires us up these new bands and I find it often interesting to dip in and have a listen. This one is well worth it, so well-done those algorithms! It is something we are proud of here, that we have been there to review the first official releases from a number of bands, and who knows how high those bands can climb – every journey begins with the first step.
This group is Liar Liar and they are an alternative rock band based in Frisco, Texas with Emo roots. They have some press info that I include here:
“Liar Liar is a powerful new force in the rock and alternative scene, hailing from Frisco, TX. Formed in 2023, the band has already played over 80 shows, earning a reputation for their raw talent and electrifying energy. They’ve lit up stages at major venues including the International Guitar Festival, Wildflower Music & Arts Festival, The Revel, and even the legendary Whisky a Go Go during their LA mini-tour. In 2025, they secured a win at the Wildflower Battle of the Bands. With original music and undeniable stage presence, Liar Liar is carving out their mark in alternative rock.”

And now the review:
This debut single was released May 8, 2026. This debut single was released on May 8, 2026. The song is fresh and commercial-radio-friendly; it would make perfect driving music or something to generally blast out on the road home. As an opening statement, it is a shrewd move too, carrying that “Let Me Entertain You”-style Queen-like lyrical feel. Sound-wise, however, it lives more in that melodic LA punk world of bands like The Bombpops or The Last Gang.
I get the feeling this is a band more than happy to have the spotlight on them, and I am already there taking my seat for what is to come. It is exactly what I’m looking for: a blended, up-tempo number delivered with sublime confidence and a tight instrumental performance. The vocals are what got me listening in the first place — so nice to meet them!
Debut singles are supposed to make people pay attention, and this one absolutely does that. Liar Liar have thrown themselves onto the alternative rock map with confidence, hooks, and a clear sense of identity.
