I’m glad it’s me doing this review; with a cover showing a beautiful blonde in leathers, bikini and holding a guitar, my male colleagues would be terribly distracted! My colleague Lorraine reviewed Danni’s earlier single, “The Timing Was On,” and noted that, musically, she was one to watch out for, and so I was more than happy to have this review sent my way. Danni is an artist building up a back catalogue and momentum, starting to squeeze that lemon of success, as the following press release outlines.
‘Danni Stefanetti is a Palm Springs-based American & Australian award-winning singer-songwriter and virtuoso guitarist with influences ranging from Sheryl Crow and Stevie Ray Vaughan to Bryan Adams, The Eagles, Jewel, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Originally from Perth, Australia, she has won multiple American Awards, including the 2023 Josie Award winner at the Grand Ole Opry, the World Songwriting Awards in 2022, the Australian Songwriting Awards (ASA) and Musicoz awards in addition to Star Search “Performer of the Year” at The Burswood, and a WAMI Award (West Australian Music Industry).
Her first live album, “Live at Big Bear,” an independent release, has now reached 6.8 million streams across Facebook and Instagram reels. Her 2023 single release “You Got Me Thinking of You” was placed on over 60 stations/podcasts/playlists worldwide and charted No. 4 on 6pr Australian Radio Charts, No. 1 on UK Radio Charts (it is now radio) for 11 weeks, and No. 2 on Microbrew Radio Charts in the UK for ‘You Got Me Thinking of You.” Danni’s last two singles are now spinning on radio stations nationally and internationally.’
My review: Danni is a voice of summer that blows away those autumn mists. Before talking about the new single, can I just give a shout for a track called “Moon Looks Pretty Tonight” that I think is a great introduction to her music. From melody to this uplifting lyric, that song is a great driving song; a very accomplished piece of power pop.
The new track is a commercial rocker with hints of old-style rock n’ roll and a bit of Elvis and the fifties golden era. It’s a good, fun track with some Southern attitude and a party vibe. The background vocals and harmonies work really well and the song is clearly designed for the live stage. Check it out! It’s available on all platforms now.
