We are rather proud to say that we have been watching Robyn Red since the time of her very first release, “Like a Bullet,” now boasting over 157k listens on Spotify . When we spoke to her back then, she was on the first steps of the ladder; I would have to say she is much further up now! At the end of this review, we have put up one of her earlier official videos that we liked called “Luke Jackson,” which is a lot of fun.

New performers today have a difficult industry to navigate. Some will release a steady stream of singles; others, like Robyn, work tirelessly on the live circuit to build her audience. Constant touring has been accompanied by occasional single releases, and her growing following of fans will be happy to see 2025 start with “My World is Yours.”

As a young singer-songwriter, Robyn brings more than just fresh music to the genre—she delivers dynamic live performances and a bold, empowered take on country style. With themes of female empowerment and unapologetic confidence, she’s carving out a space that’s uniquely her own. A prominent figure in her home country’s burgeoning country music community, Robyn’s distinctive red hat has become an iconic trademark. She made waves performing on the DF Concerts stage at Country 2 Country at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, debuting in 2022, returning in 2023, and earning the headline spot for 2024. Her impressive festival appearances include Millport Country Music Festival, Buckle and Boots Country Festival, The British Country Music Festival, TRNSMT, and more. Beyond festivals, Robyn has headlined the legendary King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, performed at iconic venues like Liverpool’s Cavern Club, The Half Moon in London, and Birmingham’s Symphony Hall. Demonstrating her entrepreneurial spirit, Robyn has self-promoted and sold out shows across Glasgow, growing from The Garage Attic to Audio and eventually the renowned King Tut’s.

Robyn’s second single from her upcoming EP, “My World Is Yours.” It was co-written with Rory McCallum and has already become a fan favorite in its acoustic form. The recorded version adds a unique touch to classic country music, incorporating a distinctly Scottish sound with the fiddle and emotions that shine through in the vocals.

This song tells the story of someone who enters your life when you least expect it. You didn’t even realize you needed them but the moment they arrive, everything changes. They bring back a light you didn’t know had faded, reigniting a spark within you and making the world feel vibrant again. You give them your world and they give you theirs.

My review:

This is a refined and mature single, with vocals that feel carefully honed and a chorus that sways effortlessly to the beat. Robyn Red delivers a track that is unmistakably country, yet there’s a delicate touch of Scotland woven into the acoustic guitar, adding a warm, uplifting character. Her live audience may be aware of this song as she has played it in her live set already.

In these uncertain times, when the world seems to shift between chaos and confusion, a song like this serves as a welcome pause—a moment to sit back, raise a glass of red, and lose yourself in its melody. Red’s artistry continues to evolve, and with each release, she cements her place in the genre. She has her audience, she has her hat, and most importantly, she has an ever-growing collection of strong tracks leading the way.

As a finishing point, to keep us improving the magazine, we really do need your support, and if you can go to the “support us” button and buy us a coffee or follow us, it helps us feel appreciated and keep improving the magazine.
