At the time of the release of their acclaimed debut album “Rockin Head,” we spoke to the guys from Skreen 6, one of the new rock acts coming out of India, rocking the subcontinent with an eye on the western market.

Formed during the global lockdown in 2021, Skreen 6 emerged with hot blood and rockin’ heads carrying the true essence of 80s hard rock and glam. Bands like Mötley Crüe, Skid Row, Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, and Def Leppard being the major spark for the initiation, the band kicked off their journey with the release of their debut single, “Rockin’ Head,” in 2021.

A significant turning point for the band came in 2023 with the addition of their new vocalist, Yohan, who replaced their original vocalist, Amal Dev Nambiar.

Picking up from where they left, the band rose up again to pursue their dream to soar high and deliver a slick package of glam metal and hard rock n’roll.

My review of “One Bullet” –

This is a great fun piece of classy rock! It has loads of melodic rock, a pacey riff-based track with those big chorus chants that encourage the fists to pump. I bet this one kills live and as an introduction to the band for me (Lorraine reviewed the album last time), I want to hear more! I liked the instrumental break, the guitars and drums pounding and my speakers pumping the volume. India may not be known for its rock music, but I tell you if Skreen 6 are anything to go by, it should be soon!

The band tells us that the single was written casually and fast in a band jam session, and the gun symbolises an addictive drug, the drug playing on the mind of a weak man.

The single is out now on all platforms.
