Taynee Lord is an artist we have been happy to cover a few times at the magazine and a new release from her I always grab from my “please look at” in-tray.

For the uninitiated, Taynee Lord founded her 5-piece band taking shape in Bristol in late 2018, recording their debut EP, ‘If Only,’ in January 2019. On release day, the band’s first single, “Blue Jeans,” was featured on BBC Radio Bristol, and ever since, Taynee Lord has been a rising force amidst the burgeoning British Country Music Scene with her connection to the roots of Americana.

After appearing on the lineup for several festivals, 2024 started with Taynee releasing her newest single, ‘Heavy Air,’ with a dazzling, eye-catching music video, which has been raved about in many blogs, BBC Radio and radio stations worldwide. The summer of 2024 saw many more festival appearances for Taynee and her band performing at Lakefest, Country Road and Festival on the Hills, alongside many others. Taynee Lord has an exciting future ahead with new music releases planned for 2025.

“Back to the Country” is now out on all platforms and has an accompanying video on YouTube.

My review:

In this song, Taynee celebrates her “home from home.” In line with great country music, she tells her story and puts a smile on all of us in the process. It is a song to celebrate spring’s arrival, to get on your boots and head off on a country road. The accompanying video shows off Taynee in 2025, not now as an emerging talent—she’s arrived! The song has an American commercial radio feel. At 1.45 it kicks into a pleasing, slower, rock-country sound. The video (below) is showing Taynee enjoying the moment and I must say I covet that lamp she is sitting next to lol.

To summarize, Taynee Lord is proving she’s not just along for the ride—she’s in the driver’s seat, steering straight into a bright future. With “Back to the Country,” she delivers a feel-good anthem that’s as much about the journey as the destination. If this is a taste of what’s to come in 2025, then country fans better buckle up—it’s going to be one hell of a ride!
