We have had a few hot weeks! You can have an image of your amazing reviewer sipping a coke and sitting in her little garden listening to the new single by the always inventive Georgia Nevada.

Before you get to my thoughts on the single, here is the press information on the single and artist: “Who He Says He’ll Be” captures the gut-punch of seeing your ex with someone new and wondering if they’ve really changed or if history’s about to repeat itself. As the lyrics unravel, Georgia walks listeners through a flood of questions we don’t say out loud: Is she getting the better version of him? Or just another shiny illusion?

Driven by a riff-heavy backbone written by lead guitarist Edd Robinson, the song came together fast. Robinson sent Georgia the initial riff, followed by a full instrumental just minutes later. ‘It was a different way of songwriting for me, but Edd’s instrumental really spoke to me and I just knew I had to write to it immediately,’ Georgia says. The result is a track that feels raw and honest in a moment of seeking clarity.

Nevada has recently announced that her long-awaited debut album, “BackFire” will be released in early 2026! She has also launched a pre-order fundraising campaign for the album. The fundraiser can be found at GeorgiaNevada.com/album-fundraiser or through the links on her social media.

“Being an independent artist means I’m wearing all the hats and while I’ve been doing everything I can (extra gigs, merch sales, the whole hustle!) Your help can really push this across the finish line. If you’re able to help, thank you – it means the world.”

My review: Some smokin’ hot guitar adds edge to this country number. It delivers a heavy-sounding riff and the song has a delightful summer chorus with a freshness blowing through the melody. If you like your country with some rocks thrown in, then this one is for you. I enjoyed it; it has a feeling of those summer festivals and I liked the slight switch of vocals around the 2:47 moment. I really hope it gains the interest of the radio stations, as it deserves the attention.

It’s the kind of track you can picture blaring out of a pickup truck with the windows down, chasing sunsets on a dusty backroad. Georgia Nevada delivers the track riff-driven and radio-ready. Don’t be surprised if this one ends up being one of your road trip anthems.
