The Rockerati are David McCarthy and Michael Horsham on vocals, guitars and bass and Justin Welch plays the drums.

This year The Rockerati followed in the footsteps of Brian Setzer, Slade, Wizzard and of course Mr Berry himself with a rockin’ festive release.

A double ‘A’ side single, an original festive fun tune “Santa Claus Has Got The Sack” comes coupled with a cover of “Run Rudolph Run.”

Since they broke cover in August 2017 there’s been USA radio airplay for Rockerati tracks pretty much every week, including from DJ legend Bill Kelly on his WFMU show ‘Teenage Wasteland’, from New York’s famous champion of new bands Todd-o-phonic Todd Abramson also on WFMU, nationwide on SiriusXM and many others including WFUV’s Paul Cavalconte.

The guys do a mean cover of The Beatles track “One After 909.”

However, turning to the here-and now! We have done a couple of reviews of singles by The Rockerati, we had a listen to their EP, “Black Book” this year. Now that the editorial embargo here on Christmas has been removed, it’s time to get stuck into this double festive treat by these Brighton based rockabilly rockers! You just know you are in for some light hearted, fast fun! They have a second album planned for release around Easter 2026.

My review:

Both tracks are out now. It’s going to be a FREE Christmas gift download to anyone who wants it – they just need to email and ask santa@rockerati.com

You send the request and you will get the songs!

“Santa Claus Has Got the Sack” is a song that I would have loved to put on in the pub Juke Box of old days, I’d have a drink with friends, it would be a typical rainy day outside, the lads would be playing pool and this one would do its seasonal best! Its dance rock with plants of festive cheer, loved the bells at the end and the walking in snow effect at the start.

“Run Rudolph Run” is Rockerati having fun. It has a bit of Status Quo in this one, a solid riff and some shuffle boogie to enjoy. This is one of those songs that you play at this time of year and this is an entirely enjoyable version. It got me bopping away and it got a festive high five from this listener!

So…if you fancy a little shot of vintage festive spirit with some Brighton swagger, The Rockerati absolutely deliver the goods. It’s Christmas rock ’n’ roll done properly – no fuss, no frills, just a whole lot of fun. Grab the free download, pour yourself something warming, and let the good times roll. Santa’s definitely got more than just the sack this year… he’s packed a proper party!
